Flavor of the Month: MARCH 2024

Hi friends, welcome to Flavor of the month, a blog where I post what I’m currently obsessed over. A few musings and I guess my feelings?? (Now that we don’t have twitter RIP and threads is full of screenshot bandits.)

MARCH 2024
The month of March has been particularly an interesting one.

March entered on from a high note- My hubby and I finished our trip to Amsterdam and Paris, to decompress our minds. Hubby took me on a journey and a half, we ate, drank and window shopped until we dropped. Im obsessed with finishing all of my sentences with “Et Voila”. But I err on the side of (not) cringe American so I refrain from saying it as much as I can.

I was able to go to Charleston, SC but unfortunately the weather canceled several days of programming, including my demo with Chef Chris Shepard. Maybe I’ll try to post that recipe on here for you all to enjoy! Keep you posted on that. But I was able to have a great dinner with my friend Amanda who then took me on a tour of all the exotic purses at GUCCI, but I only looked. Did. Not. Touch. lol. (OK, I touched, but I did not buy.)

While the whole month over-all has been filled with a lot of joy, I can’t help to feel like my mind is split into two plains. On one hand, I haven’t been able to motivate myself to film a single piece of food related content that isn’t a reaction video. On the other hand I’ve been working on my cookbook so incessantly that I feel like I myself am a book now. Paola (book) Velez shall be my name, et voila.

So let's get to what you actually want to know, what am I currently obsessed with?
(note to the reader: Some of the things I note on here are things I haven’t bought or tried, but am dreaming of owning them. Others are things I’ve tried and truly, truly love!)

NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip- Maybe I was a little late to the party and there might be a better high end product out there in the market. But for $9 this product just does it for me! I’ve always want a subtle rose pink lip tint on my own lips and this product perfectly achieves this. Mucho Obsessed.

Rambler Sparkling Water- The carbonation in this little can of sparkling water is INSANE. Think McDonalds sprite without the syrup.

French butter- particularly salted Paysan Breton. But I smuggled butter back in my snack checked bag from Paris, so my fridge is literally a French supermarket at the moment.

Creme de Marron- CHESTNUT CREAM, it’s chestnut puree. This brand is a favorite to French folks and I took the internet peoples advice and bought as much as I could carry and as much as I could pack.

This tomato lamp lol… I am not buying it. I think it’s cute, but it’s a spend that I think is impulsive so if in a few months I think I need it still. I will follow up with my regrets. lolol

Martins Red Hot chips- Spicy, sweet, crispy and full of red40 .. (I know awful, but I am trying to consume it in moderation but these chips SLAP.)

Dr. Martin Mules- I have been wearing these bad boys non-stop since January. But I really have been putting them to work all March long. I am going to look into their open toe options, because my feet love walking and standing in these shoes.

Horseshoe Pants- This silhouette is so fun and so amazing. Maybe they are tailored to be like capri pants for you tall gals, but these sit perfectly above my ankles. I am OBSESSED. Funnily enough, I purchased the less expensive option to try this style out called Barrel Pants. I know these aren’t everyones cup of tea. (Sorry, not sorry.)

Avene Cicalfate HAND Restorative Hand Cream- My hands are butter. et voila.

This recycled Maldon butter knife- This color has me in a trance lol, someone please send me some monies. I would like these in my kitchen, por favor.

And lastly, this amazing all stainless steel set that is way too out of my budget for a calculated impulse buy, but a girl can dream.

Looking forward to what April will bring, stay tuned for an important book announcement & for any new recipes I will force myself to post on my social platforms & on this recipe blog.

Love ya (Te Quiero Mucho),
Paola
